This Is It Moment

Guess what? Remember the friend I was referring to in this post? Well, he didn't just get into the 10-year graduate straight program in the University of Florida for next year, but he is going there next month for a two-week campus and facility tour. Talk about a 60 thousand pesos campus tour eh? All expenses paid. Lucky bloke.

I am so fucking jealous of him right now because this has been what we've always aimed for. Graduate studies abroad. Well, he did have jealous moments when he learned I was going to study in Japan for a year then. I guess it's my turn now.

I am so F-ing thankful for SU. This would have never happened anywhere else. I now know four people who left and will leave Silliman for pursuits abroad. Myself in Japan, Hope in Germany for a Theatre Arts workshop, Ian in Iowa for the University of Iowa Iowa Writers Program, and now Ja-a for the uber expensive campus tour of the University of Florida.

I can't help it but I know I played a great deal with his UF endeavor. I think overall we've done a great deal for ourselves. It's my turn next time. After this one-year stint in Japan, the fellowship at Duke University. がんばって!
