I just got in from a day of bargain shopping today. I bought a couple of winter clothes I desperately need. But there was this one thing I cannot find in any decent store, a pair of long johns. Some call it thermal underwear. I heard long johns are not sold in the tropics, and the Philippines being a tropical country, does not have any of it. Well, in my island only, that is. But I do not have the resources to shop in Manila, or even just in Cebu anymore. I'm teetering on that thin line between getting by and being broke. It is important that I get to buy a pair. I can't afford to let my loins freeze in sub-zero temperatures after all.
Mt. Fuji is also on my itinerary, hence i need a good pair of trekking shoes. That spells another day for bargain shopping then!
I went inside ukay-ukay stalls today but the smell and the dust made it extremely difficult to navigate around the piles of moldy clothes. I got by on my own, but when I tried out a nice looking trench coat, the world changed. I began itching all over and that was it. That signaled my flight out of the ukay-ukayan. I walked so fast that I cast a slight wake behind me that made people look at me. It was tough I had to get out immediately.
Good thing I got what I went out for. I'm not the type that looves shopping. I prefer somebody to buy the good stuff for me. ;)

Bargaining winter clothes in the tropics
